Say it with silver

Nearly one third of car buyers opt for silver, which, according to colour psychologists, shows a desire to be seen as having wealth and prestige. Silver edges out calmer and more relationship focused blue car drivers into second place (with 26%).  Below are the top colour choices for used cars in the UK and what the colours say about their drivers:

1. Silver (30%): a driver who wants to give the impression of wealth and prestige

2. Blue (26%): peaceful and serene drivers who value relationships over money

3. Black (17%): a desire to stamp authority on other road users

4. Red (10%): passionate and a little wild, likes to take charge of any situation

5. Grey (8.5%): a sign of stability and reliability

6. Green (5.5%): a conscientious driver who tries to smooth over tense situations

7. Purple (0.9%): a self-assured driver with a love of all things beautiful

8. Yellow (0.7%): confident and not afraid to let out one's inner child

9. Gold (0.6%): a desire to express independence

10. Orange (0.3%): a sign of a happy person who enjoys being unique and craves attention.
