Blue is the colour

PPG Industries has unveiled its annual forecast of popular car colours. The company says blues, particularly more vibrant, richer, complex shades will take on a more important role in car styling. The company bases it predictions on future popular car colours from trends in a wide variety of areas, including fashion, interior design and consumer products.

PPG says 20 per cent of new cars purchased so far in 2008 in North America were silver. White was second at 18 per cent, followed by black at 17 per cent and red at 13 per cent.
