Team HMG runs to raise money for Francis House Hospice

Local paint manufacturing firm, HMG Paints, entered a team in the BUPA Great Manchester Run, Britain’s premier 10k race, for the second year running.

In 2008 staff, family and friends raised over £3000 for Christie’s, while this year a 36-strong team is expected to generate even more money for North West children’s hospice, Francis House. As before, the runners, who ranged in age from 60 to 17, competed in specially printed team T-shirts, emblazoned with HMG’s logo and the charity symbol.

“Sixteen of us ran for the second year and we all wanted to raise money for a thoroughly good cause,” says HMG’s marketing manager, Paddy Dyson, who was one of the second timers and finished in 56:15. “Francis House cares for young people with incurable conditions, who would not fit into a traditional hospice environment, but are too old to be classed as children. It receives only a small amount of money from Government and needs almost £2 million a year to provide the best medical care. We are proud to be doing out bit toward their fundraising programme.”
