Eurogarant - Vehicle Repairs Par Excellance

An increasing number of bodyshops and garages offering repair facilities across the UK will soon be sporting Eurogarant signage at their premises heralding the advent of 'new' Eurogarant, the repair standard that is now accepted throughout much of Europe as the one offering the motorist repairs undertaken to the highest possible standards and with a written guarantee underwriting the work completed.

Malcolm Tagg, the Director General of the VBRA, the UK's leading lead Trade Association for Vehicle Body Building, CV, Car Body and SMART repair, commented enthusiastically on this move stating, "Eurogarant has been the recognized, accepted and acknowledged standard relating to vehicle repairs of the highest quality throughout mainland Europe and in a low key way in parts of the UK for some time now. All motorists in the UK should be as delighted as we are within the VBRA that it will soon spread more widely across the country."

Expanding on the virtues of Eurogarant and the very real advantages it will offer motorists Tagg advised, "Eurogarant calls for bodyshops to meet certain high standards governed by the AIRC to become accredited to undertake repairs in accordance with the Eurogarant specifications. There are five basic constituent parts within the standard, all designed to ensure that drivers get the best possible deal when having their vehicle repaired." Explaining further Tagg went on to say, "One of the key elements of Eurogarant is that repairers must possess an extensive range of equipment to ensure that they can undertake complex structural repairs . Workshops must also be adequately designed and feature environmentally friendly waste disposal, dust extraction and other facilities. Again, as part of the Eurogarant philosophy, all this is subject to routine external verification which also reviews such things as training records for staff and the ability of the repairer to routinely access the latest technical details covering information relating to repair methodologies. Another very important part of Eurogarant is that all repairers accredited within the scheme will be offering a full 2 year warranty covering all work undertaken.

Concluding his comments Tagg added, "In addition to all the above highly desirable factors, repairers operating under the Eurogarant banner will do all they can to reduce the pain and inconvenience invariably involved when a vehicle has been involved in an accident or otherwise damaged."

Tagg went on to advise that a more than 70% of VBRA members qualify for Eurogarant status. The expectation is that more Eurogarant signs will spring up over the coming months as the general public become familiar with what the scheme offers and purposefully seek out an approved repairer to get their car back on the road fully repaired using the very best practices and principles.

Tagg's final comment? "This is a fantastic development for all UK motorists and those from abroad touring in the UK. The Eurogarant sign means the garage is suitably equipped and trained to restore a damaged vehicle to the highest standards and with the minimum amount of fuss and inconvenience. It is very good news indeed and should be viewed as a significant step forward for all vehicle owners."
