18.02.2009 A firm foundation - Permasolid EP Primer Surfacer 4500 Spies Hecker’s latest generation of epoxy surfacers performs outstandingly and is simple to apply, according to the company. New Spies Hecker Permasolid EP Primer Surfacer 4500 from the epoxy product line provides exceptional corrosion protection and is especially geared to sensitive factory primers and inexpensive 2-coat finishes.
“In the development of this product, the focus was on optimising application,” stressed Frank Barduna of Spies Hecker’s Technical Service. The outcome is “a versatile primer surfacer distinguished above all by its optimised sanding characteristics and good drying.” Used as a sanding surfacer or wet-on-wet and applied in a mixing ratio of 3:1 with Permasolid EP Hardener 4501 and reducer, Permasolid EP Primer Surfacer 4500 creates a firm foundation. “It is applied in one to three coats and dries in 30 to 50 minutes at a temperature of 60°C,” he said. Much faster drying of this product is also possible with infrared. Barduna added: “Thanks to its fine vertical stability, the primer surfacer demonstrates user-friendly application and good surface quality particularly during low-cost paintwork repairs.”
These are features much appreciated by car makers, since Permasolid EP Primer Surfacer 4500 has been approved by several vehicle manufacturers as a refinish product.
