Teroson launches new range of waterborne protective coatings
Teroson has launched a range of waterborne protective coatings.
Called the Terotex Aqua Range these 1 litre products provide protection against corrosion and abrasion, stone chips and underbody damage.
Being water based, the coatings are VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) free and have no unpleasant solvent odours.
Terotex Record 2000 Aqua is an underbody coating for OEM finish textures.
It provides resistance against cold cracking up to -25 °C, and helps create good sound dampening properties. Easy to handle, it has a low shrinkage rate and can be used to coat large surfaces. Drive-away time is about 3 hours and the finish allows overpainting.
Terotex Super 3000 Aqua is a multi-functional stone chip coating that can be used on various textures and thicknesses, and on a range of surfaces, including metal, PVC, PP and EPDM. It can be overpainted, has low shrinkage which allows large surfaces to be covered and is used for abrasion resistant coatings and noise dampening. Three colours are available, including a light version that is compatible with standard waterborne OEM paints.
Terotex HV 450 Aqua is a corrosion inhibitor for cavity protection. Tested under extreme corrosion conditions, it achieves good surface penetration to produce durable protection for all cavities. Its very high dropping point (>150°) prevents dripping when exposed to sunlight or hot climates.
‘These innovative new products are available from us now, and are in addition to our solvent-based offering and perfectly complement the range,’ explains Kieran Bowden, Senior Product Manager at Henkel, manufacturers of the Teroson brand. ‘Their development also readily demonstrates our ongoing commitment to meet the changes in market needs – in particular, the call for products with less VOC.’
