Plans to launch nationwide trade association gather pace

Plans to launch a new nationwide trade association to represent the bodyshop sector are gathering pace, writes John Loughran.

The Vehicle Repairers Association (VRA) was established in Co. Mayo in early summer with a view to going nationwide.

The VRA was set up to promote the interests of Irish accident repairers by Sean Hegarty of Hegarty Bodyworks, Castlebar and John Moran of Moran’s Garage, Westport.

The VRA believes that the regulations that govern the sector aren’t working, and is calling for a root and branch examination of the current system.
