Volvo to recall 202 cars

Volvo Cars Ireland is set to recall 202 of its cars because of a reported problem with a belt tensioner that could, if it failed, result in a loss of power steering.

The recall affects V70, S80, XC60 and XC70 models built between 2007 and 2009.

Volvo Cars Ireland has confirmed that it is writing to the owners of these vehicles in the coming days and the belt will be replaced by dealers free of charge.

Customers concerned that their vehicle might be affected should contact their local Volvo dealership.
