3M Expands Masking Film Range

3M has made a further development in masking technology with the introduction of 3M™ Premium Clear Masking Film in both 4m and 5m widths.

This translucent polypropylene film is specially formulated to minimise the risk of imprint marking or ‘ghosting’ commonly associated with the presence of water or moisture. Typically, this might affect vehicles that have been left outdoors or stored in damp conditions.

3M Premium Masking Film is supplied on 1 metre wide rolls that folds out equally on both sides to either 4 metres (Part No. 80139) for standard size vehicles or 5 metres (50366) for larger cars or small CVs. For simple, one-man application, it fits the standard 3M dispenser as used for standard 3M Clear Masking Films. Its static cling holds closely to every contour of the vehicle to prevent overspray from reaching bodywork under the film. It is easy to cut quickly and accurately to the exact repair area required, and then to finish efficiently with narrow masking tape.
