Abcon adds Actirox fibre discs
Abcon Ireland has added VSM Actirox AF890 and AF799 fibre discs, the latest generation of abrasives, to its ever-expanding product portfolio.
Customers in the metalworking and processing industries have experienced the advantages of Actirox technology, thanks to its geometrically shaped ceramic abrasive grain.
Rough stock removal and precise grinding can be achieved without the need for tool changes, additional grinding steps, or reworking.
VSM fibre discs have a short contact time and produce less friction resulting in lower temperatures in the grinding zone. When combined with its fast cut and maximum stock removal capabilities, it results in decreased operating costs and increased productivity.
Abcon says AF890 sets a new benchmark for stock removal and grinding speeds when machining superalloys and stainless steel.
The Top Size layer of the fibre disc reduces unwanted tarnishing and heat-induced material deformations and performs at its best when used with high-speed angle grinders.
AF799 extends the range of applications: It is particularly effective when processing unalloyed steels and aluminium due to reduced chip adhesion.
Actirox abrasives have been proven to deliver better grinding performance compared to conventional abrasives with a consistent surface finish.
