In a statement, ADL said: “Despite the efforts of the Dublin Fire Brigade, who were on the scene very quickly, the ferocity of the fire meant that the entire building and all the stock content was totally destroyed.”

ADL managing director, Naji El Mayss said the company will now do “everything in our power to get ADE back to full operation as quickly as possible”.

“All at the company are still coming to terms with the fire and the devastating effect this will have on the business in the short term,” he said.

“As I am sure you can appreciate the company is in a state of flux at present, however, over the coming days we will be formulating a plan to rebuild and strengthen the business.

“We are thankful for all the messages of support that we have received which are much appreciated at this difficult time.

“At present we are unable to process online orders, however, we are still keen to work with our loyal suppliers to try to satisfy customers ongoing needs. Please call our telesales team and they will help in any way they can.

“Many thanks for your ongoing support,” he added.
