AkzoNobel delivers seamless fix for Ice textured repairs

AkzoNobel’s vehicle refinish business has made a new additive available in Europe to deliver seamless repairs to distinctive ‘Ice’ colour textured finishes.

The additive is combined with Sikkens’ popular Autoclear Mix & Matt product to allow its customers to provide a matt structure and finish that perfectly matches the original in texture, colour and overall effect.

The repair system can be combined with the existing Sikkens product range and has been validated by vehicle manufacturer Peugeot.

“Our new specialized repair solution for Sikkens has been developed to support customers dealing with the new Ice colours,” says Technical Service Manager Europe North, George Sneddon at AkzoNobel vehicle refinish business. “It has also been tailored to preserve the authentic look and feel by ensuring that this unusual and very impressive finish is maintained after repairs.”

As ever, the Sikkens technical teams are on hand to facilitate the usage of the new product. Sneddon added: “By working closely with vehicle manufacturers, and at the same time with our bodyshop customers, we are able to create solutions meeting every specific requirement. In the case of this additive, we are happy to have provided the market’s best method for Ice colour repairs, offering ease of use, high-quality results and a seamless match.”
