Auto parts excluded from 90-day pause on US tariffs

US President Donald Trump this week announced a 90-day pause on US tariffs to allow time for US officials to negotiate with countries that have sought to reduce them.

However, it has been confirmed that automotive parts are to be excluded from the 90-day pause, and will remain subject to an additional 25 per cent tariff, effective 3rd May 2025.

This includes a wide range of parts for the majority of passenger vehicles and light trucks, such as chassis and drivetrain parts, automotive tyres and tubes, body parts, engine parts and electrical components.
