Braking new ground with electronic trading

More than two thirds of sales traffic – including enquiries and orders – to Brake Engineering is now conducted electronically through the PACT initiative from eparts and TecCom.

The leading supplier of brake calipers has invested considerable resource ensuring it is able to communicate and trade with motor factors in the most efficient way possible. Supporting this is the company’s ongoing ambition to be ‘first to market’ with new products, which are listed immediately via MAM and TecDoc cataloguing systems.

Brake Engineering is a full-line braking supplier. With the supply of brake calipers, discs, master cylinders, pads, hoses and wheel cylinders, it is essential that customers are aware of these product solutions and have access to essential product information and the ability to order.

Through PACT, Brake Engineering customers can identify the right part, check its price, availability and place orders. In doing so, PACT estimates that the process saves motor factors money every time an enquiry and order is placed.

Kevin Price, Brake Engineering marketing manager, said: “The automotive aftermarket is a challenging environment and the advent of electronic trading is a natural progression for any business wishing to save money and create efficiencies, in order to focus on supporting customers in selling the product on to garages.”

PACT also automates the exchange of essential paperwork such as order acknowledgements, dispatch notes and invoices, further reducing the possibility of incorrect parts supply.
