Car-O-Liner again starred at the UK’s Skills Show
The doors to The Skills Show 2014 were official closed at 4.00pm on Saturday last (15th.). This was after three days of intense competition for those competing in over 65 Vocational Skills and with a record number of competitors and visitors attending.
Car-O-Liner were proud not only to be the senior sponsor for The Auto Body Repair but to have the opportunity to run the ‘Have A Go Area’ over the three days.
The Have A Go Area is a unique aspect of the Skills Show which allows members of the public to Have A Go at Auto Body Repair by realigning a car using the Car-O-Liner Quick 42 Repair Bench with the Car-O-Tronic Electronic Measuring System and carrying out Spot Welding using the Car-O-Liner CTR12000 Spot Welder, also this year introducing the PNP90 Self Piercing Riveter to the Have A Go Area.
The Car-O-Liner Have A Go team spoke to over a thousand young people over the course of the three day event and hopefully inspiring the young people to think about a future in the Automotive Repair Industry.
Stuart Alexander, National Sales Manager for both the UK and Ireland has said “The premise of The Skills Show is to inspire the workforce of the future and by once again taking part Car-O-Liner will have hopefully inspired the next generation of Auto Body Repair Technicians.”
Car-O-Liner would like to pass on the whole teams congratulations to Stuart Davidson for achieving Gold in Auto Body Repair, Lewis Lloyd for achieving Silver and Matthew North for achieving Bronze. We would also like to pass on our congratulations to Harrison Jankovic for receiving a Medallion of Excellence in Autobody and to Andrew Spiers and Iwan Williams who have done themselves proud over the 3 days of competition. They will hopefully use this experience to take their careers forward and we hope to see these guys in the future whether it be in the workplace or next year’s competition.
Car-O-Liner would also like to pass on our congratulations to Blake Robey for achieving Gold in Automotive Refinishing, Daryll Head for achieving Silver and both Rory Clague and Aaron Kernohan for achieving Bronze.
A final congratulations must go to all 18 competitors across the three Auto Body disciplines as it is a massive achievement to make The Skills Show Final when 271 applied to take part and they should hold their heads up high.
