Changes to AIC Scheme proposed
The Irish Bodyshop Journal, out on Monday can reveal that the Department of Environment is considering revising the regulations surrounding the Accredited Inspection Contractor (AIC) Scheme.
The proposed revision will centre on issues “such as the limited number of inspection bodies currently in the market and concerns over the financial burden imposed by the inspection process.”
The EPA says that any “benefits to vehicle refinishers from the revised regulations may only be available to those who hold and maintain their certification when the new regulations take effect.”
“The implementation date for the provisions of the new regulations has yet to be determined but it is likely to be in the order of six months after the publication of the regulations.”
