Chicago Pneumatic has unveiled its first composite angle grinder for the vehicle service market. Inspired by Chicago Pneumatic’s expertise in material removal for the industrial sector, the new CP75XX series is one of the most powerful angle grinders on the market. Ideal for body panel cutting, surface preparation, weld seam removal and frame grinding, the CP75XX series is a major evolution from the existing series.
The CP75 series boasts a powerful 1.1HP (840W) governed motor, providing a high material removal rate enabling users to reduce the time taken to complete their tasks. The new series is available in 4in, 4.5in and 5in grinding wheels, cutting wheels, flap wheels; providing users with added versatility to best suit their application. The high durability expected of Chicago Pneumatic’s tools comes in the high quality bevel gears and durable design, providing 1,000 hours between maintenance. As such, it provides a long service life enabling users to reduce maintenance costs and improve uptime, so they can do their jobs more quickly, easily and profitably.
As a composite tool, the CP75XX series is compact and lightweight, weighing 3.5 lb. (1.6kg) and measuring 10.6in (270mm) long, providing users with easier maneuverability and handling when it comes to delicate work like body panel cutting. The head is manufactured from aluminum, providing the tool’s robustness, while the body is made of steel and aluminum with a composite overmolded comfortable grip which insulates the operator’s hand from the cold.
The grinder features a robust steel wheel guard that can be adjusted to protect the operator and to facilitate access to the application. It also features a streamlined safety lever for additional ease of use. Equipped with a 360 degree swivel air inlet, the CP75XX provides users with exceptional maneuverability avoiding potentially dangerous air hose entanglements.
“This is Chicago Pneumatics’ first composite grinder and it has been designed to provide users with high power but also high comfort and better safety,” says Luis Clement, vice-president, Chicago Pneumatic Tools. “Safety is at the forefront of Chicago Pneumatic’s developments and every tool goes through extensive testing such as drop tests, durability tests and vibration measures, to ensure that the grinders comply with safety standards and customers can be confident with performance and durability.”
