Cultivating strong partnerships

Joachim Hinz is the new Spies Hecker Brand Manager for the markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The internationally experienced manager accepted his new position on 1 July 2013.

SH-Joachim-Hinz-Spies-hecker2Hinz has been working for Spies Hecker since 1996. One of the 48-year-old’s strong points is his international experience in the European paint market, on which he can now draw as the new Brand Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “From now on, we shall be positioning the Spies Hecker brand even more strongly on a global basis and responding particularly to the challenges in different countries. The focus is on forward-looking projects in colour management, and optimisation of the international product portfolio,” Hinz explains.

As the man in charge of international business at Spies Hecker, he succeeds Thomas Melzer, who is appointed key account manager for the automotive industry, fleets, leasing and insurance companies, Axalta Coating Systems (formerly DuPont Performance Coatings).
International duties

Hinz has a wealth of experience in international business. He has been head of Spies Hecker Marketing Services for Italy and Germany as well as being responsible for the brand’s business development in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Central Europe. He has also built up the distribution and marketing for Sontara SPS, a system for surface preparation in vehicle refinishing and series finishing. Until July 2013, Hinz was Spies Hecker Sales Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

A specialist in wholesale and foreign trade by training, Hinz will run Spies Hecker’s activities and develop them further. He says, “our success is crucially dependent on our close and trusting cooperation with our national organisations and distributors. We want to build on these partnerships.”
