Dempsey brothers walk the Camino with support of Crown Paints
Ten of the twelve Dempsey brothers recently walked 100km of the Camino to celebrate their parents’ 70th Wedding Anniversary.

The brothers thought it would be a great way to celebrate their parents’ Wedding Anniversary and raise money for a local charity.
David Dempsey, Sales Manager with Crown Paints Ireland explained: “We thought it would be a good way to celebrate our parents’ anniversary and raise some money for charity at the same time. The charity was VESA ( Volunteer Eco Students Abroad ).”
Two of the brothers, made long treks home to take part in the walk. Pauric travelled from Australia and Ronan the youngest brother travelled from Dubai.
The trip was self financed by each brother. All money raised went directly to local volunteer, Kealey Hannon a neighbour of David’s who is travelling to do volunteer work in the summer.
The Crown Paints T- shirts and hats worn by the brothers created a considerable stir among pilgrims. Each brother wore either a blue on a red ensemble on alternate days. The brothers completed the walk over 5 days.
David added: “We have decided to do another 100k next year and have only eight brothers signed up at this stage. Well done Crown Paints for all their support.”
