Draper Tools appoints new sales manager for Ireland
Draper Tools has appointed Adam Ellison as its new sales manager for Ireland.
He will officially take over the reins from Colin Self in July, who is set to retire after a successful 24 years with Draper Tools. Ellison will work alongside Self in the meantime.
Ellison joins Draper Tools from Ronseal Ireland with more than 25 years of industry experience behind him.
Commenting on his appointment, Ellison said: “I am delighted to be joining the Draper team and building on the great work Colin has done for many years.
“I have over 25 years’ sales experience and am looking forward to drawing on this in my new role, where I’ll be working with the team to continue driving the Draper brand forward.
“I’m excited to get started and to get out there and meet all our customers.”
Ellison joins the family-owned firm at a time of innovation and modernisation, which kicked-off with the appointment of Matt Sheen as chief executive in January 2023 and has seen several new hires and promotions since.
These include a new director of finance and the appointment of Sarah Hartland as head of marketing, who is Draper Tools’ youngest member of the senior leadership team at 32 years old.
Originally established in 1919 by Bert Draper, Draper Tools is still family-owned and run today by the third and fourth generation of the Draper family.
And the business continues to grow, with a new warehouse build recently completed at its UK headquarters. The international operations are also expanding, with the company now exporting to over 70 countries worldwide.
In a joint family statement John, Tom and Joe Draper commented: “We’d like to thank Colin for everything he has done for Draper. He’s been a highly valued member of the team for such a long time, achieving a great deal for the business during his 24 years with us.
“While there’s no doubt Colin will be missed, we are all very excited to welcome Adam to the team. We know he’ll be a real asset to the business and look forward to working with him as he leads Draper Tools Ireland into its next chapter of growth and expansion.
