DuPont Refinish announces appointment of new EMEA brand manager
Kim Clarke has been appointed DuPont Refinish brand manager EMEA, effective immediately. As the EMEA ambassador of the DuPont Refinish brand, Clarke is charged with developing and maintaining strong brand awareness while maximising short- and long-term sales volumes and profits.
In addition, her role will see her organising and coordinating marketing activities in cooperation, and with support of, marketing, sales and product management teams, and identifying long-term opportunities within EMEA. Clarke will represent the brand in the EMEA region externally as well as internally, within the Axalta Coating Systems organistion.
The timing of the appointment is key; the new name and visual identity for the DuPont Refinish brand will be announced at the end of September 2013. Clarke was the ideal candidate to take the helm of the DuPont Refinish brand at this time, having previously worked as DuPont Refinish marketing communications manager EMEA between 2004 and 2006. During that time she was instrumental in the re-imaging of the DuPont Refinish brand, introducing the iconic liquid car logo. Since 2006 she has been the DuPont Refinish sales and marketing manager for Eastern and Central Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Clarke says, “It is a very exciting time for the DuPont Refinish brand, and I am delighted to be given the guardianship of it in the EMEA region. As an extremely strong, active and high-profile brand in the market, the brand – under its new name – will continue to embody productivity, enthusiasm and innovation. Part of my role going forward will be to ensure our new brand’s governance is reinforced at every touch-point – internally and externally – through robust brand positioning and well-defined strategy. I look forward to playing such an integral role in the evolution of such an iconic and well-respected brand.”
Clarke takes over from Michael Maier who is appointed regional sales manager, Industrial Coatings, Axalta Coating Systems
