Achieving global excellence in colour matching doesn’t happen overnight. DuPont Refinish has worked tirelessly over the decades to develop cutting-edge colour tools to attain this and earn its place as market leader.
But colour tools are only half of the story. As well as supporting refinishers with these tools so they can find the right formulas in their day-to-day repairs, the formulas themselves also have to be developed – and this is no mean feat.
Last year was no exception. Globally DuPont Refinish made available over 15,000 new formulas to its bodyshops, with over 1,000 of those dedicated to the brand’s waterborne basecoat range Cromax®. Nearly a third of the new formulas were specifically developed for the European market.
Anthony Cashel, brand marketing coordinator, DuPont Refinish UK and Ireland, says, “the colour marketing team never stops. They work diligently all year to add new formulas continuously to our existing, vast global database. A total of more than 15,000 new formulas in one year equates to almost 300 each week – it’s a mammoth task. In addition to the sheer volume of formulas DuPont Refinish creates, our scope is very broad too. We cover everything from motorcycle colours to new tints for the CV and fleet sectors, and of course new OEM colours, to ensure our refinishers have as many colour formulas as possible at their fingertips.”
