Enterprise Rent-A-Car organises festive toy run

Christmas came early this morning for the boys and girls of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, in the shape of a special ‘Toy Run’ organised by Enterprise Rent-A-Car. With a little help from Santa, Rudolph, and his elves, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car employees loaded up the Enterprise sleigh with toys and goodies for a surprise visit to the hospital.

For the 16th consecutive year, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, part of the world’s largest car rental company, has partnered with Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital to bring Santa, the Enterprise helpers and their sacks of goodies to visit some very special children who will be staying in hospital over Christmas.

Group Managing Director of Enterprise Rent-A-Car Ireland, George O’Connor, said: “Our annual Christmas Toy Run really means a lot to us. It’s an annual event that everyone at Enterprise looks forward to, and staff at our 25 branches around Ireland have been busy fundraising throughout the year in advance of the visit.

“This is our 16th year working with the brilliant staff of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital on the Toy Run and we hope to continue putting smiles on the patients’ faces for many more years to come,” he continued.
Rachel Kenna, Director of Nursing at OLCHC said: “Around 100 very ill children will spend this Christmas at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. We try to get as many children as we can home for Christmas. Having a child with a serious illness puts a lot of strain on families, particularly at this time of year. That is why coming up to Christmas this magical event organised by Enterprise is an amazing experience bringing joy and fun to the children and a major distraction from their treatment.”
