EPA targets on-the-spot fines by year end

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is targetting the introduction of on-the-spot fines for non-compliant bodyshops, Bodyshop.ie has learned.

The EPA says that on-the-spot fines will be an effective deterrent for those non-compliant operators who might seek to avoid or abuse the current Regulations and will support / encourage those who are compliant.

Meanwhile, the EPA is urging boyshops to provide details of non-compliant bodyshops or paint suppliers to their Approved Assessor, to their local authority directly, or by phoning the National Environmental Complaints Line (in confidence) on 1850 365 121.
