EPA to make decisions on panel of approved assessors

The Environmental Protection Agency is poised to make a decision on the format for the new panel of approved assessors, following the introduction on new regulations in January.

Under the new regulations Accredited Inspection Contractors (AICs) are being  replaced by an EPA appointed panel of approved assessors which shall be in place before the 30th of September, 2013.

“By the end of the month we hope to be in a position to issue a notice on how this panel will be set up. The Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government are also making progress on the introduction of fixed payment notices which would be applicable to bodyshops and also to motor factors selling paint, but this will need to get through the Dail before we can be confident it will come to fruition,” an EPA spokesman told Bodyshop.ie
