EV dismantling training taking place in May
Elves is next month bringing a new certification to Authorised Treatment Facilities in Ireland in the form of electric vehicle dismantling training, accredited by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).
Delivered by Salvage Wire Ltd., through the Electric Elves programme, the May training will be the first time this ATF specific certification will be offered in Ireland.
Electric vehicle dismantling training will be offered in three locations, Letterkenny, Dundalk and Athlone and at two different levels – informed and competent.
Elves has been offering electric and hybrid vehicle awareness training for free to ATFs in Ireland since 2019, but May 2023 will see the first offering of a training programme designed and accredited specifically for vehicle dismantlers.
Interested ATFs can register for the training courses via the Electric Elves website: www.electricelves.ie.
Training is provided free to all ATFs in the Republic of Ireland.
The May 2023 training dates are as follows:
- IMI Competent (Level 2) EV dismantling training, 9th May Athlone
- IMI Informed (Level 1) EV dismantling training, 10th May Letterkenny
- IMI Informed (Level 1) EV dismantling training, 11th May Dundalk
Elves offers ATF training as part of its Electric Elves programme for the batteries from hybrid and electric vehicles.
The Electric Elves programme that commenced in 2018 is provided free of charge to all ATFs and alongside training, provides information supports as well as free collection and recycling of electric vehicle batteries from ATFs.
