Farécla apprentice & student bonnet painting contest applications now open

Farécla officially launched its 2019 Apprentice & Student Bonnet Painting Contest at Thatcham Research.

The competition was created to highlight and reward the amazing skills of the young painters in the industry while increasing awareness of the refinish sector to the next generation.

There are some great prizes to be won for 2019:

The winner will receive £1,000 cash, plus full set of Farécla polishing materials and Farécla Polishing machine worth a further £250. Attendance with mentor (or other +1) as guests of Farécla at the Advanced Engineering Show on October 30, 2019 at the NEC, Birmingham.

The runner up will receive £500, plus full set of Farécla polishing materials.

And the grand finalists will receive £250, plus full set of Farécla polishing materials.
A Go Pro camera and full set of Farécla polishing materials is a further prize available to entrants who choose to record the process of creating their bonnet. This prize will be unrelated to how far the particular bonnet progresses in the competition.

Entry for the competition is now open. Apprentices can register for the competition through their college or bodyshop and Farécla will be supplying participating colleges/bodyshops with a pack of painting and polishing materials, including Farécla’s own Optimised Paint System (OPS) Flexible Paint Cups and a sample of the new G360 Super Fast Compound to help contestants achieve the perfect finish.

The deadline for registration is Friday, June 28, and the closing date for completed bonnets is Friday, August 02, 2019.

The Entry Form, and competition Terms and Conditions can be downloaded from the Farécla website (www.farecla.com/bpc) which also features further details on the 2019 contest and a re-cap of the 2018 competition.

There will then be a round of preliminary judging before the semi-finalists are revealed on the Farécla website in September and then later, the grand final in October where the top five bonnets will be transported to Farécla HQ to be reviewed by an expert panel of judges.
