Farécla’s Apprentice & Student Bonnet Painting Competition
Farécla, a leading manufacturer of compounds and refinishing products, has confirmed that registration is now open for the 2020 Farécla Bonnet Painting Competition.
Now in its third year, the competition is designed to showcase and reward talented young people in our industry. Aimed at students and apprentices who are at level 2 or 3, there are some fabulous prizes to be won.

The winner will receive £1,000 cash plus a full set of Farécla G360 polishing materials and a Farécla G Plus polishing machine worth a further £250, and their bonnet will be displayed on Farécla’s stand at the Advanced Engineering Show at the NEC in November. The runner-up will win £500 plus the G360 polishing system and two grand finalists will win £250 plus the G360 system. In addition, a GoPro camera and the G360 polishing system will be awarded to the entrant who supplies the best video or series of photos of their bonnet painting and polishing process.
Farécla Marketing Manager, David Stokes commented, “This is now year three and we are delighted at the positive reaction to the competition, and have been very impressed by the overall standard of the entries received in its first two years. There are a lot of talented young painters joining the industry, and Farécla is really pleased to be able to highlight and celebrate their skill and commitment.”
Apprentices can register for the competition sponsored by their college tutor or bodyshop, manager, and Farécla will supply participating colleges/bodyshops with a pack of products from its Optimised Paint System (OPS) and G360 product ranges to help contestants achieve a first class finish.
The deadline for registration is Friday, July 3 (post or email), with Friday, July 31 the closing date for email submission of a photo of the entrant’s completed bonnet. Further details, entry forms and competition rules can be downloaded from the Farécla website (www.farecla.com/bpc).
