First Line adds to hand brake cable range

During the course of 2014, the First Line Group (FLG), has introduced 126 new hand brake cable references into its already market leading range of First Line branded cables. With these additions, the range now extends to more than 2,300 part numbers.

The breadth of the range and the vehicle coverage it provides explains why FLG remains at the forefront of the supply of cables to the automotive aftermarket in the UK and the continuing level of range additions demonstrates its commitment to these key, safety critical products.

Another recent range extension is the introduction of clutch and brake cables for left hand drive vehicles. This development is aimed at offering products to service a small, but growing niche market in the UK, as well as to meet customer demand in FLG’s growing export markets. The range comprises more than 230 references and covers all the popular applications.

Another area on which the FLG product team has focused particular attention has been hand brake cables for Asian applications. These vehicles, both imports and transplants, account for close to 15% of the European vehicle parc. FLG has used its extensive experience of sourcing high quality products from around the world, to put together a leading range of automotive cables for these vehicles. Among the more popular applications are Mitsubishi Shogun 2006 onwards, Hyundai i30 2007 onwards, Kia Rio 2005-2011 and Nissan Juke 2010 onwards.

The complexity of some vehicles means it can be difficult to clearly and confidently identify products for specific vehicles. This is particularly true of LCV’s and the Ford Transit is a good example. Nearly 40 brake cable references are now needed to cover all the options available on this vehicle from 2000 to 2013. In response to the many requests from its customers, FLG has produced a bulletin which gives clear and concise vehicle and product information to prevent the incorrect part being supplied. This bulletin has been so well received that the exercise has been repeated for Transit Connect and Focus models, which is just part of the exceptional service provided by the FLG team.
