Frank Byrnes Autobody Repairs wins “One to Watch” Award

The SCCUL Enterprise Awards 2014 were held last Monday night in NUI Galway. Dr. James J. Browne President of NUI Galway, Minister Sean Sherlock, TD for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation and Special guest Bobby Kerr, Founding Dragon of RTE’s Dragons Den were among the 500 guests at the awards.

As the SCCUL Enterprise Awards is dedicated to supporting and promoting small businesses, the competition is open to all businesses in Galway City and County.

This year’s competition welcomed entries from different forms of Enterprise – this included new businesses and any new innovative project or undertaking within an existing business. Over 130 businesses entered the awards.

Having entered these awards for the first time Frank Byrnes Autobody Repairs was firstly interview by the panel at the Enterprise Centre and then shortlisted for an onsite interview at his business.

Frank Byrnes was awarded the prize of “The one to watch” in the Consumer Goods & Services category, a highly competitive section of the awards.

The awards day comprised a large Expo event where all the entrants could demonstrate their businesses, as did Frank Byrnes Autobody Repairs, but Frank Byrnes also had a special mystery guest who all during the day could be found wandering around the Bailey Allen Hall in NUIG, ‘All we know is, he’s called THE STIG…….’
