Glasurit showcases colour competence in Germany

Glasurit dedicated its booth at this year’s Techno-Classica in Essen to answering two key paint-related questions posed by classic car owners: Where can I find the original colour of my vehicle? And where can I have my classic car professionally refinished?

The stand featured thousands of painted colour chips and impressively showcased Glasurit’s colour and paint expertise developed by the paint brand in its over 130-year history.

The colour chips that are normally used in the Colour Profi System to help body shops find the right refinish colour in a matter of minutes, making it the obvious port of call for colour-matching.

Many vintage car owners seized the opportunity to find the original colors for their classic cars at the stand. To find the authentic colour, the Glasurit show team entered the model and year in one of the world’s largest colour databases, in which Glasurit archives automotive colors from the earliest days of the automobile.

“The combination of this database, haptic samples from Glasurit’s Colour Profi System and the measurement technique offered by the digital Glasurit Ratio Scan 12/6 spectrophotometer proved to be ideally suited for colour matching in the context of authentic restoration and refinishing,” said Jürgen Book, BASF’s Classic Cars Manager.

The high number of visitors to the stand proved to Glasurit that its active involvement on the classic car scene has paid off. Many classic car owners from different countries trust the established brand’s high level of expertise. Its Classic Car Colors portfolio offers vintage car owners an online service for all aspects of paint.

In addition, Glasurit has been the exclusive consultant for all paint-related matters for FIVA, the international federation of historic vehicles, for the past three years.
