Gowan Auto installing 330 solar panels at Citywest HQ
Gowan Auto, the Irish importer and distributor of a number of leading auto brands, has commenced an eight-week project that will see 330 solar panels installed on the expansive rooftop of its distribution centre in Citywest, Dublin.
The project aims to reduce energy usage by 20 per cent, which Gowan Auto expects will save just over 60-tonnes of CO2 per annum.
According to Gowan Auto’s calculations, this equates to 11,567 trees planted, 1,288 long haul flights avoided, and almost 1.8 million kilometres of abstained car journeys.
The several hundred 585 watt solar panels are currently being fitted by Mulhare Group.
Gowan Auto is a subsidiary of Gowan Group Limited, and is the exclusive Irish importer and distributor of Opel, Peugeot, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Honda, and Jeep.
