Grey is Ireland’s most popular car colour for 7th year running

Of the 105,253 new passenger cars sold in Ireland in 2022, more than one third of them are grey, making it the country’s most popular car colour for the 7th year in a row.

Grey cars had a 36.57 per cent share of the Irish car market last year, with 38,489 units sold, according to figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI).

The second most popular hue in 2022 was black, with 19,701 units sold. Black had a 18.72 per cent share of the market here in Ireland.

The top five most sold car colours in Ireland last year remained unchanged on 2021, with blue, white/ivory and red/maroon adorning a combined 41,328 new cars sold in 2022.
