Hollister Motorcycles teams with Spies Hecker

The Hollister MotorCycles name stands for excellence and for the company’s latest Cobra model, the German motorbike manufacturer teamed up with Spies Hecker.

The Cobra’s hallmarks are an abundance of chrome, broad, arching handlebars and a transparent deep-red paint finish. The Cobra is a one-off chopper hand-crafted by Volker Sichler, the owner of Hollister’s MotorCycles. “Our bikes have a soul,” Sichler explains. “Anyone who gets onto a Hollister’s motorbike is in store for a new biking experience.”

Perfection is Hollister’s guiding principle, right from the initial concept for the bike through to the finishing touches. The frame and Hollister’s typical swing arm are made on-site. The aluminium wheels and spokes are also hand-crafted and painstakingly painted.

“To achieve such a brilliant transparent finish, we applied several layers of clearcoat. For the paint, we relied on Spies Hecker’s new Hi-TEC Performance System so we could achieve the desired quality. If you want perfection, you have to use the best materials and talented craftsmen for every detail,” Sichler emphasises.

For Spies Hecker, the Cobra project epitomises the perfect combination of striking design with a bold colour that highlights the unique design. Daniel Hartland brand marketing coordinator, Spies Hecker UK and Ireland, says, “the challenge of the Cobra was to apply a deep, bright red to the bike tank and tyre rims. But thanks to the versatility of the Hi-TEC Performance System, this challenge was easily overcome.”

The Cobra can be seen in the Spies Hecker “Passions 2014” calendar.
