IAAF webinar to explore coronavirus effects on industry

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) is hosting a webinar, which will take a close look at how the pandemic has affected the industry and opportunities that have emerged as a result.

Following the success of the IAAF’s first ‘Industry Briefing Bitesize’ back in June, the next session will be hosted by Mike Smallbone, IAAF head of membership development, and will take place on July 23, from 10:00-11:30.

Quentin Le Hetet, GiPA, will be the guest speaker, covering how the six-month MOT extension has changed MOT seasonality; the ageing car parc and how the aftermarket can capitalise on this; the electrification of the car parc moving forwards and the opportunities surrounding the development; and finally the change in car usage, with more people relying on their personal vehicle to travel, choosing to avoid public transport in a bid to maximise health and safety measures.

Hannah Lyon-Wall, director at Financial & Credit Insurance Services Limited) (FinCred IS), will also be speaking to members about trade credit risks in a Covid-19 world.

This will include an overview of the insurers economic outlook; their responses on policy terms and credit limits; the proposed government scheme; and the company’s solutions for IAAF members.

There will also be an update on the latest IAAF activity from Wendy Williamson, IAAF chief executive.

Williamson said: “The automotive aftermarket is a great example of how an industry has successfully managed during the coronavirus pandemic. It’s important that we continue to communicate key messages and advice to ensure the industry can make the necessary changes to meet demand for new products and services by constantly adapting and evolving. We received great feedback from the last Industry Briefing Bitesize and we look forward to welcoming Quentin, Hannah and our members back for another session.”IAAF webinar to explore coronavirus effects to industry
