Insurers deny discrimination against disabled people
The Association of British Insurers has denied allegations of discrimination against disabled people.
The association has refuted suggestions that insurers discriminate against disabled people – “not least because that would be illegal.”
“Insurers are sometimes accused of charging higher premiums for travel cover for people with life-threatening conditions – and some bog standard policies might not cover them. But, in the vast majority of cases, you can find a specialist insurer who will provide cover – albeit at a price that reflects the risk,” a spokesman said.
