Keep motorists safe with the Philips range
Lighting specialists, Lumileds recommends that workshops offer a free lighting check to motorists before the spring and summer break to ensure motorists are safe on the road.
Richard Armstrong, Lumileds Business Development Manager Automotive – UK and Ireland said: “Road safety starts with seeing and being seen with good quality car lighting. The range of Philips bulbs is comprehensive and, as well as a full selection of replacement and upgrade Halogen and HID Xenon replacement bulbs, it also includes LED retrofit lighting options for cars using halogen bulbs.”
Heading the Philips offer is the RacingVision, available in H7 and H4 variants and on sale from authorised Philips distributors.
In addition to Philips RacingVision, Lumileds also has a number of high style/high performance upgrades.
Philips X-tremeVision and Philips X-tremeVision G-force headlight bulbs are made for outstanding performance, producing up to 130 per cent brighter light than competitor solutions in the high performance light category. (H1, H4 and H7 tested at 13.2V standard voltage).
With Philips X-tremeVision G-force, the bright white light is significantly whiter than standard headlight bulbs. The Philips patented coating technology produces a more powerful light, offering one of the brightest lighting performances and a highly comfortable night driving experience.
Philips X-tremeVision G-force is designed to withstand shocks of up to 10G, giving the bulb extreme durability.
In the workshop environment, Philips professional lighting lamps were created to give technicians the optimum lighting to work in, from both a comfort and visibility and they have established a reputation for performance, flexibility and durability. The current range covers everything from small hand held or head worn lights through penlights and larger handhelds to light strips and mutli-light systems.
All Philips professional workshop lights are LED-based, with Lumileds offering the Luxeon LEDchips. The majority of Philips workshop lights are now rechargeable – although some battery and mains cable-powered models are offered.
Lumileds has recently introduced the Philips pocket inspection lamp RCH5S, the cordless RCH25 work lamp and the portable projector light PJH10, all of which feature a unique dimming function for enhanced comfort while working.
When boost mode is too bright to see fine detail and eco mode is too dark, mechanics require the flexibility of a dimming function: the tool’s adjustable brightness can meet a variety of illumination needs at the press of a button. The memory function automatically stores the last setting when switching back on. The Philips RCH5S provides up to 300 lumen and can be dimmed to 30; the Philips RCH25 provides up to 500 lumen and can be dimmed to 50; finally the Philips PJH10 provides up to 1,000 lumen and can be dimmed gradually down to 100 lumen.
All three are equipped with high-quality LEDs for a bright, intense light with maximum performance. LEDs have a colour temperature of 6,000 K. They produce a natural white light that is easy on the eye, improving visual comfort and reducing eye strain for fatigue-free working. The Philips RCH5S and Philips RCH25 also feature a powerful spot light to distribute the light exactly where it’s needed.
All three of the new professional LED workshop lamps are designed for the toughest environments, conforming to IK09, one of the highest international shock impact resistance standards. The lamps are covered with rubber, providing further protection for an already robust housing. The lighting tools are IP68 as well, for water and dust resistance.
