Kilkenny motor show proves a great success

Up to 150 new cars from 12 different brands were on display at one of Ireland’s largest motor shows  in Kilkenny last weekend

The motor show took place at the Hub, at Cilin Hill in Kilkenny, last Friday (2-9pm), Saturday 10am-6pm) and Sunday (12-5pm), and admission was free to all.

An attendance estimated at up to 20,000 people drawn from all across the South East  were at the show over the weekend. It all kicked-off with the launch last Friday evening, preformed by Peugeot brand ambassador Amanda Brunker.

Amanda Brunker was presented with some Nicholas Mosse pottery by Kilkenny Car Dealers, Ward Kinsella, Michael Lyng, Kevin Morrissey, John O'Brien, Denis Lahart, David Buggy and Cathal O'Neill and with Alan Nolan, Director geberal SIMI, at the opening of the Kilkenny Motorshow in The Hub last Friday night. The local dealerships, who organised the show rightly boasted ahead of the event”  “It is the only big indoor show outside of Dublin. It is going from strength to strength and is getting bigger every year.” This was the fourth year of the event.

At an event to announce the motor show a couple of weeks previously, hurlers Henry Shefflin and Tommy Walsh representing sponsor Bank of Ireland and Waterford’s Michael Walsh representing AIB, were among those in attendance. Well after all, it’s hurling country!
