LKQ visits Riverpark Training Centre

LKQ recently took for the first time its ‘Introduction to sustainability in the bodyshop’ course to the Riverpark Training Centre in Mallusk, County Antrim, which was attended by customers from across the island of Ireland.

Part of the LKQ Academy, the course is described by LKQ as an aid to independent bodyshops on their journey to a “greener” bodyshop, by broadening their understanding of sustainability practices and changes that can be made across the bodyshop using three core pillars of change – “products, process, and equipment”.

Each pillar is explored in detail to provide opportunities for a bodyshop to make data driven decisions for both the short and long term. The course also draws from real life examples, key trends and problems facing the industry around sustainability covering themes such as waste, CO2, VOCs, plastic, and replacement parts.

During the two-day event at the Riverpark Training Centre, Lee Berridge, head of technical and training at LKQ, took the attendees through demonstration sessions, whilst giving advice that could help bodyshops make small, practical and cost-efficient changes to their business.
