Local authorities urged to support licensed refinish trade
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is urging all local authorities to support the licensed refinish trade in their respective areas, by publishing a public notice that urges motorists to use only certified car spraying operators when having your their car’s paintwork repaired.
The EPA has issued a template for a public notice to all local authorities. The public notice urges motorists to use only “certified car spraying operators when having your car’s paintwork repaired.”
The notice continues: Certified providers have made the commitment and investment to operate legally and are applying good environmental practice to prevent environmental pollution. Uncertified bodyshops are operating illegally and should be avoided as they are not operating to the same standard as certified operators.”
The EPA admits that it can only urge local authorities to publish the notice, it cannot force the local authority to publish the notice.
