Monroe suspension tech features on Polestar 2
Polestar’s new all-electric performance fastback, the Polestar 2, is equipped with passive shock absorbers featuring innovative Monroe RideRefine RC1 valves, which are designed and piloted in St. Truiden, Belgium, and are part of DRiV’s Monroe OE Solutions portfolio.
DRiV is a Tenneco Inc. business and leading global aftermarket and OE ride performance company.
“The Polestar 2 is one of the most exciting new electric vehicles on the market and is more than deserving of this high praise from AutoGids and Le Moniteur Automobile,” said Rudi Schurmans, executive director ride control at DRiV.
“We’re proud that our innovative damping technology, including Belgian designed RC1 valves, are part of the package, giving drivers unsurpassed comfort and control.”
Precisely tuned RideRefine RC1 add-on valves utilise frequency-dependent damping to reduce the high-frequency wheel motions common on rough roads.
They enable the dampers’ main valves to increase road contact and handling through consistent, firm damping of low-frequency wheel motions, resulting in a more balanced, refined and agile driving experience.
The Polestar 2 was also recently named Belgium’s Best Car for 2020 in the large electric category by AutoGids and Le Moniteur Automobile.
