More than half of cars fail NCT first time
More than half of the cars that underwent the NCT test in the first six months of the year, failed first time round, figures released by the National Car Testing Service confirm.
The figures also show that almost 2,400 cars received a “fail dangerous” in the NCT, during the first six months of the year.
A total of 595,436 cars were tested in the first six months of the year, with just under half (295,610) passing first time. Just over half (50.4 per cent) of the cars tested failed the test, with 2,349 cars receiving a “fail dangerous” report.
Just over 90 per cent (254,177) of the cars that were re-tested during the same period passed, while just, 25,734 failed and a further 307 received a “fail dangerous” report.
