Motor trade backs Climb4Cancer25 fundraiser for Irish Cancer Society

Last Saturday (10th May), a group of 16 climbed Carrauntoohil in Co Kerry to celebrate the 10th anniversary and the success of the original ‘Climb4Cancer 2015’ and to once again raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

The team got a chance to meet again and tackle the daunting challenge of the aptly named ‘Devil’s Ladder’, before summiting Carrauntoohil, the highest mountain in Ireland.

This year’s event is expected to raise €6,000 for the Irish Cancer Society for cancer research, and has been backed by Synergy Vehicle Refinishing Solutions Ireland Ltd (VRSI), the Top Part Group and Vizion Ireland.

Frank Byrnes of Vizion Ireland, and one of the event organisers, said: “The participants each carried a daffodil symbol attached to a yellow ribbon with the name of someone they knew who had sadly lost their battle against cancer.

“Climb4Cancer 2025 was above all a walk to remember those we love who have passed, who are fighting cancer and their loved ones. It was great to see not only so many of the original people turn up 10 years on and 10 years older, but it was also great to see a few new faces as well.”

Byrnes’ fellow event organiser, Peter Daly of Synergy VRSI, said it was “an extraordinary privilege to be a part of both events with an amazing group of people for such a great cause so close to all our hearts”.

“While we have participants supporters from all walks of life it great to so many colleagues and friends from the motor trade working in together to support this great cause,” Daly added.

Those wishing to donate to Climb4Cancer 2025 and the Irish Cancer Society can do so on their JustGiving page, or at any Top Part branch nationwide. For further information email Frank Byrnes and Peter Daly at climb4cancer2025@gmail.com.
