NCT reopening on a phased basis from Monday

The NCTS has announced that it is reopening the service on a phased basis from this Monday, the 8th. of June 2020 with the reopening of 15 centres. It is subject to final approval from Government on Phase 2 of the Government’s Roadmap, which is due to be confirmed today.

What about the other 33 test centres throughout Ireland? Why are they not all opening on Monday?  The NCTS says that it intends to open the remaining NCT centres on a phased basis during June and July. How can this unnecessary delay be attributed to the Governments Roadmap for reopening society and business.

The NCTS says that customers of those vehicles that had a test due date prior to 28 March 2020 are now invited to make a booking for one of these 14 test centres: Cork – Little Island / & Blarney;  Dublin – Northpoint 1 & 2,/ Deansgrange,/ & Fonthill;  Galway; Limerick; Waterford; Letterkenny; Athlone; Ballina; Naas; Drogheda; and Derrybeg.

The NCTS says that to enable the re-opening of centres the NCTS has put detailed measures in place, in each test centre, to mitigate against the spread of COVID19 and to protect both customers and staff, more information on what you should expect are outlined in their FAQ.

The NCTS says that if you have some questions regarding the resumption of service and your NCT Certificate validity, more information can be found Here

The NCTS says that their website will have further updates going forward.
