New click&go UV Surfacer from Sikkens

Sikkens, the leading vehicle refinish brand from AkzoNobel’s Automotive business has upgraded its vehicle refinishes system with the introduction of the UV Surfacer in the new ready for use click&go packaging.

For the first time it’s possible to attach the product pouch directly to the spray gun and to be ready to start spraying within seconds. click&go UV Surfacer is always ready for use and only requires five minutes of UV drying for excellent results, making it the easiest and fastest curing filler on the market.

With the global campaign ‘The Painters’ well under way to highlight the continuous improvement of its vehicle finishes system, Sikkens introduces another innovation that really contributes to the overall productivity of painters: click&go UV Surfacer.

The click&go pouch can be mounted directly on the spraygun and is ready for spraying within seconds. In addition to fast preparation time, click&go UV Surfacer itself only needs 5 minutes of UV-A curing to deliver an unmatched performance for any spot to medium-sized repair.
By considerably reducing cycle times and consuming up to 50% less paint, click&go UV Surfacer provides all the conditions to increase throughput. As painters work faster, make more efficient use of paint material and have to do less cleaning afterwards, the end result is increased productivity and customer satisfaction.

Sikkens click&go UV Surfacer is another upgrade driven in part by the ongoing partnership between Sikkens and the Vodafone-McLaren-Mercedes Formula 1 Racing Team. “We’ve been inspired by the McLaren team focus on speed and to come up with the fastest and most efficient solutions possible. Those solutions are appreciated by the McLaren team, but they deliver new functionality and performance to all of our customers,” says Remco Maassen van den Brink, EMEA Marketing Manager A&AC. McLaren, he adds, served as a proving ground for the new system, and they’ve been using it to keep their vehicles race-ready.

“It’s like the name suggests: you just click…and go”, as McLaren Paint Technician Tom Cross puts it. As speed is of the highest importance in F1, click&go UV surface still delivers good build, excellent sanding properties without being sensitive for contourmapping, thus scoring on quality too.
‘The Painters’, which is part of the Sikkens global ‘Creating Together’ campaign, kicked off earlier this year, and features online and print materials. The whole campaign package comes together on the recently redesigned global Sikkens website. It contains dynamic film trailers that take visitors behind the scenes at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England and offers up-close-and-personal stories from professional painters all around the world.
