New Cromax online learning tool
Cromax is launching a new online training solution – e-CTC – the first of its kind for the brand. E-CTC is designed to help maximise refinishers’ productivity and to work towards a reduction in bodyshop downtime.
It can give bodyshops the flexibility to train refinishers cost-effectively in the bodyshop, and at their own pace.
Kevin Welling, Training Academy Manager for Axalta Coatings Systems in the UK and Ireland, says: “Every bodyshop manager knows that refinish training can mean downtime in the bodyshop and may involve costly travel. E-CTC was designed to deliver essential theoretical refinish expertise in a fun, dynamic and interactive online package that can be accessed at work whenever it is convenient. The inspiring tutorials and effective learning techniques make it an engaging tool for refinishers. And it is very easy to get started. Bodyshops simply register via the Cromax webshop – www.cromastore.co.uk – and apply for access for their business and their employees. They will then be sent a password with which they can login and start right away. The flexibility of e-CTC means bodyshop managers can plan training according to workload, which helps to maintain the resources needed for optimal throughput and productivity.”
Eight user-friendly modules are designed to provide refinishers with expert training to develop specific skill-sets. The modules – Safety at Work, Surface Preparation, Plastic Part Preparation and Repair, High Performance Substrates, Colour and Colour Tools, Repair Processes and Techniques, as well as Rectification of Application Defects and a module on Cromax Products for Daily Use – are available in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. Each module takes about an hour to complete and they can be worked through in any order.
Apart from the product section, every module concludes with a short test. If participants achieve an 80 per cent pass rate or more, they qualify as an e-Certified Cromax® Painter and are then invited to a practical Skills Assessment Day at the Cromax® Training Academy in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Passing this assessment qualifies them as a Fully Certified Cromax Painter.
