New CV epoxy primer surfacer from DuPont Refinish
DuPont Refinish launches P7W Primepox in white, which complements the existing range of P7B Primepox black and P7 Primepox off-white. P7W is a fully compliant, chromate-free, two-component epoxy primer surfacer for commercial vehicles and trailers. Its addition allows refinishers to mix all seven shades of the ValueShade® concept,
helping them increase productivity, protect the substrate, save on topcoat material and ensure a superior finish.
As part of the DuPont™ Imron® Fleet Line system, all P7 Primepox shades can be applied over a wide range of substrates, including bare metals, OEM finishes, cured repair finishes and DuPont Refinish polyester putties. DuPont Refinish recommends the use of a P7 Primepox shade as a first coat over all new metal substrates due to the first class-corrosion and chemical resistance it offers. The CV epoxy primer surfacer can be coated with all Imron® Fleet Line 2K surfacers or Imron® Fleet Line topcoats.
Refinishers also benefit from fast drying times and superior overspray melt-in. Every P7 shade is suitable for use on large surface applications and has excellent adhesion properties on correctly treated metal substrates, helping to minimise inconsistencies.
Lindsey Swaine, DuPont Refinish brand marketing coordinator UK and Ireland says, “According to the 2011 DuPont Annual Global Colour Popularity report white was the most popular colour chosen for the truck and trailer segment in Europe. The addition of P7W Pirmepox white to the range means we are firmly keeping up with industry trends. The P7 Primepox primer surfacer shades have good filling properties making them ideal for repairs where a robust and easy paint system is required.”
P7W, P7 and P7B are available in a 3.5 litre tins.
