New Meyle ball joint kits
Committed to expanding its product portfolio for French makes and models, Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG now also supplies Meyle ball joint kits to fit the Peugeot 407 and Citroën C5. The handy kits contain all parts required for repair including the mounting material and a seal ring made from stainless steel.
If the ball joint on Peugeot 407/508 or Citroën C5/C6 models requires replacement the likely root cause is dirt or moisture penetrating the ball joint thus spurring corrosion on the axle journal and seal ring protective rings. The result: The sealing is worn down allowing moisture to seep into the bushing and damage it. Designed to eliminate this frequent cause of part failure, the new ball joint kits from Hamburg manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts provide workshops with an all-in-one solution from a single source. The seal ring used on Meyle ball joints is made from stainless steel. It is mounted between the wheel hub carrier and ball joint to eliminate contact between both parts and prevent early wear of the ball joint’s rubber component.
The new Meyle ball joint kits for Peugeot 407/508 and Citroën C5/C6 models are as of now available under the Meyle part numbers 11-16 010 0018/S (without guiding suspension ball joint) or 11-16 010 0019 (with guiding suspension ball joint).
Meyle workshop advice: Wulf Gaertner Autoparts engineers recommend checking for steering and suspension part damage using the Meyle joint play tester. This special tool allows repair professionals to identify early-stage wear on the ball joints and/or suspension parts quickly and easily. This video of the “Meyle Mechanics” provides step-by-step instructions on the proper use of the joint play tester. https://youtu.be/RChUhzaotxQ.
