New Mirka Cafro E-Cup 11 hybrid bond wheel

Mirka has revealed its new Cafro E-Cup 11 hybrid bond wheel, which it says marks an important step forward for sustainability in tool manufacturing.

By using advanced manufacturing technology, Mirka says re-thinking the production process has combined improved efficiency with a reduced environmental impact without compromising on precision.

According to Mirka, the starting point for the new Cafro E-Cup 11 was to develop a better performing wheel while optimising the production process. The steps taken in the development process created a more sustainable grinding wheel that can also improve total productivity for the end-user.

The new Mirka Cafro E-Cup wheel features a resin support rim, designed to wear at the same rate as the diamond abrasive rim. This minimises machine stops, saving time and increasing total grinding productivity.

The support rim and hybrid bond give the E-Cup 11 wheel excellent stability and maximum precision for grinding operations, according to Mirka.

From a sustainability standpoint, Mirka claims the efficient E-Cup hybrid bond wheel checks several key boxes. Instead of alloy, the inner support rim is manufactured using resin and the wheel body is made from a lead-free alloy, eliminating an environmental toxin.

The pairing of these technologies has resulted in a more efficient, higher performing and more sustainable grinding wheel for tool manufacturing. Together with its hybrid bond structure, Mirka says the E-Cup 11 wheel is a bond of technical innovation and sustainability.
