New Sikkens Autoclear Mix&Matt
Sikkens has upgraded its vehicle refinishes system with the introduction of Autoclear Mix&Matt in Europe.
From now on every gloss level can be obtained thanks to this multi-purpose clearcoat system that is suitable for both full matt bodies and plastic car parts.
Sikkens Autoclear Mix&Matt, is a two-pack matting finish consisting of a low gloss and a semi-gloss component for application over all basecoats. It is especially designed for the repair and total respray of original matt finishes, as well for the repair of low gloss and semi gloss car parts. The desired gloss level is achieved by mixing the two components. A reference swatch with different gloss levels indicates the proper proportions of the two components to achieve the desired effect.
Autoclear Mix&Matt is suitable for use on full matt bodies and plastic car parts, and delivers the usual ease of use and consistency that customers have come to expect from Sikkens. It’s a professional solution for professional painters and repair specialists: even, clear, with no trade of cloudiness.
Autoclear Mix&Matt is one of a number of spin-off products originally developed in cooperation with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 racing team, with which AkzoNobel has worked in a technical partnership since 2008. The development of the new clearcoat is an example of how McLaren and Sikkens are creating together, and the ultimate beneficiaries are Sikkens customers who see continuous improvement in the products available in the professional market.
“Like other innovations, our new Sikkens Autoclear Mix&Matt underlines our efforts to come up with new products that really prove to be relevant and practical in the hands of the people who use them on the paintshop floor,” says Remco Maassen van den Brink, Marketing Manager EMEA. “With this introduction, we are once again distinguishing ourselves from the competition with a product that delivers more.”
With the strategic emphasis on Creating Together, new Autoclear Mix&Matt will be introduced within the global campaign ‘The Painters’ where the spotlight is on the heroes of the paintshop floor. For that reason Sikkens also created a special web environment (www.sikkensvr.com) to give painters a digital platform where they can find more information about the continuous improvement of Sikkens’ vehicle refinishes system and share their experiences and ideas.
